Cadillac has once again demonstrated its dominance in the world of motorsports by clinching the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. This remarkable achievement marks Cadillac's fourth Manufacturer Championship and fifth IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup title in the prototype category since 2017. The accolades were fittingly awarded at the IMSA Night of Champions, held at the Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Braselton, Georgia.

In the fiercely competitive Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) classification, Cadillac Racing showcased exceptional performance in its inaugural year. With two victories, six podium finishes, and two pole starts across the nine-race season, Cadillac Racing solidified its position as the GTP Manufacturer Champion. This triumph adds to Cadillac’s impressive roster of Manufacturer Championships, previously secured in 2017, 2018, and 2021 during the IMSA DPi era.

The brand's success extended to the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, where the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac V-Series.R emerged victorious. This notable win in the four-race series, culminating in the Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, further cements Cadillac's reputation, with previous victories in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

John Roth, vice president of Global Cadillac, expressed his gratitude to IMSA for their role in introducing hybrid sports car racing and emphasized the honor of winning both the inaugural IMSA GTP Manufacturer and IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup titles.

The No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac V-Series.R, driven by Pipo Derani and Alexander Sims for Action Express Racing, achieved the GTP Driver and Team Championship. This marks Derani's second title with Cadillac Racing in the past three years. The duo, along with Jack Aitken, also clinched the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup Driver and Team Championship.

Cadillac's ongoing commitment to racing has shaped the V-Series performance portfolio, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2023. Models like the CT5-V Blackwing, CT4-V Blackwing, CT5-V, CT4-V, and Escalade-V are testaments to the brand’s racing heritage, seamlessly transitioning track technology to the road.

As the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season approaches, with events like the Roar Before the 24 and the 62nd Rolex 24 At Daytona, Cadillac looks to continue its legacy of excellence in motorsports. The upcoming season, featuring a fifth IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup event and a race on the streets of Detroit, promises to be as thrilling as ever for Cadillac and its fans.
